November 2018: International Environmental Politics

Editor’s note

Welcome to the first issue of the 2018-2019 school year! As the American midterm elections wrap up and as conversations about the current political climate with your relatives at Thanksgiving come to a close, we’re kicking it off strong this year on Gaia with a focus on international environmental policies.

In this issue, we’ll be exploring environmental policies from a range of interesting places, including the Marshall islands, Denmark, and Uzbekistan. We’ll also dive into the issue of offshore wind turbines and the future of the Paris Accords, and showcase some news on what ISSC schools have been doing recently. Take a peek!

On top of our diverse selection of articles, we are also featuring several artists here this November. We have some wonderful photography, cartoons, paintings, and poetry to share with you, so make sure to check out their work!

All in all, we’re proud to bring this very successful issue to you as we head towards the end of the semester. Thanks to all the writers and artists who submitted work; we couldn’t have done it without you.
