I've Got Beef With You!

I've Got Beef with You!

I've hardly ever met anyone in my life that absolutely detested hamburgers, but at the same time, not a lot of people raise the question of: "Where does this food come from?" The prevalent themes and subjects regarding food production aren't things that usually come to mind when one is just concerned with filling their stomach. Factory farming for cows and other livestock produce incredible amounts of greenhouse gas(especially methane when it comes to cows). It also drains water resources rapidly on top of relying on a compact space that render animals unable to move(this is hardly an exaggeration). The point of this comic is, obviously, not to say that eating one burger can fill the skies up with smoke. The point is to hint at the fact that if everyone else is just as oblivious as the dude in the picture about the true cost behind the stuff on our dining tables, the contents of the comic could become reality.

Exploring the Permanence of Plastic

Exploring the Permanence of Plastic

Through my work, I wish to encourage others to care about plastic pollution, especially in the oceans. My print suggests that while the seasons change and so many things in the world transform, plastics stay the same. I hope to inspire viewers to think about the longevity of plastics the next time they use a single-use plastic bottle or similar plastic products and perhaps try to make more sustainable decisions after thinking about the environmental consequences of their actions.
